Justification for support-linkages with GEF themes and Operational Programmes.
Climate change has become a global reality and a challenge for the global environment. There are several sources of climate change the contribute in the global warming; domestic use of fuel wood is one of them. The costs of using firewood in traditional ways are growing every day. Fuel wood is the primary source of energy for households in targeted areas where this is to be implemented.
The project proposal falls under the GEF SGP theme of climate change (OP-6 promoting the adoption of renewable energy by removing barriers and reducing implementation costs) this project directly contributes towards alternate energy that is eco friendly which will be provided to the targeted communities.
